There are specific insurances for au pairs coming to The Netherlands, such as the Mondial Assistance Au Pair Insurance. Au pair insurances need to be taken out by the host family and before the au pairs leaves her home country. This way, you are certain of a suitable and reliable insurance for your au pair during her stay in The Netherlands.
Keep in mind that pre-existing medical and dental ailments are never covered (this applies to all travel (au pair) insurances).
The Mondial Assistance Au Pair Insurance is a complete insurance for au pairs coming to The Netherlands with the following features:
- Covers emergency medical costs, extraordinary expenses (for example a ticket home in case of serious illness, accident or death of a close relative), repatriation, luggage, travel accidents, personal liability, holidays with and without host family in Europe or even worldwide (depends on Europe- or World coverage).
- Maximum duration: 18 months
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Coverage meets Schengen visa requirements
- Covers medical costs of the au pair during a one-off, temporary (max. 21 days) visit to home country
- Optional coverage for special (winter) sports (10% additional fee)
- Insurance needs to be taken out by host family, before the au pair leaves her home country.
