The Incoming Student Insurance van Mondial Assistance is a very suitable insurance for foreign students and interns staying in The Netherlands for up to 18 months with the following features:
- Covers emergency medical costs, extraordinary expenses (for example a ticket home in case of serious illness, accident or death of a close relative), repatriation, luggage, travel accidents, personal liability, holidays in Europe or even worldwide (depends on Europe- or World coverage).
- Maximum duration: 18 months
- Maximum age: 30 years
- Coverage meets Schengen visa requirements
- Covers medical costs of the student during a one-off, temporary visit to home country (max. 21 days)
- Europe- or worldwide coverage (depends on country of origin of the student/intern)
- Optional coverage for special (winter) sports (10% additional fee)
- The insurance can be taken out by a Dutch host family and by the student/intern, before the student or intern leaves his or her home country.
Keep in mind that pre-existing medical and dental ailments are never covered (this applies to all travel (student) insurances).
